Nord Quantique est l\u2019une des rares entreprises \u00e0 travers le monde \u00e0 avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 admise dans ce programme prestigieux. Cette acceptation est bas\u00e9e sur l\u2019approche avanc\u00e9e de Nord Quantique en mati\u00e8re de correction d\u2019erreur quantique qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue pour progresser plus efficacement vers du calcul utile. Cette initiative pluriannuelle se d\u00e9roulera en plusieurs \u00e9tapes; les entreprises franchissant certaines \u00e9tapes seront retenues pour les \u00e9tapes suivantes et remporteront des contrats en fonction de leur performance.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019initiative d\u2019analyse comparative quantique (QBI) de DARPA est bas\u00e9e sur le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent programme de l\u2019organisation, \u00ab\u2009Underexplored Systems for Utility-Scale Quantum Computing\u2009\u00bb. L\u2019inititative QBI tente de d\u00e9terminer les param\u00e8tres devant \u00eatre atteints pour fournir des ordinateurs quantiques utiles sur le plan industriel. Ils doivent \u00e9galement avoir une incidence tangible sur des industries, telles que la distribution d\u2019\u00e9nergie, la d\u00e9fense, les soins de sant\u00e9 ainsi qu\u2019une gamme d\u2019autres applications. En termes simples, la QBI d\u00e9terminera si l\u2019informatique quantique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle industrielle peut \u00eatre mise en \u0153uvre dans un d\u00e9lai de dix ans; elle comparera ce que ce niveau de puissance de calcul rendra possible par rapport aux ordinateurs actuels.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Savoir que DARPA voit le potentiel de notre technologie et qu\u2019elle nous a invit\u00e9s \u00e0 participer \u00e0 ce programme est tr\u00e8s gratifiant. Nous consid\u00e9rons cette acceptation comme la preuve que la technologie que nous avons d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e poss\u00e8de un potentiel important et qu\u2019elle permettra de mettre en place un calcul quantique utile \u00e0 moyen terme\u2009\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Julien Camirand Lemyre, PDG et cofondateur de Nord Quantique. \u00ab\u2009Notre approche est fond\u00e9e sur des bits quantiques encod\u00e9s avec des codes bosoniques. Elle est unique en son genre dans le domaine du calcul quantique. Cette combinaison unique de mat\u00e9riel \u00e9volutif et de conception tol\u00e9rante aux erreurs permet d\u2019obtenir des r\u00e9sultats convaincants en mati\u00e8re de correction d\u2019erreurs. Cependant, l\u2019essentiel est que cette technologie puisse \u00e9galement \u00e9voluer vers des niveaux utiles sans recourir \u00e0 des redondances de milliers de bits quantiques dans une importante infrastructure physique. Donc, nous pr\u00e9voyons fournir des syst\u00e8mes quantiques utiles qui ne repr\u00e9sentent qu\u2019une fraction de la taille de certains mod\u00e8les concurrents et qui consomment beaucoup moins d\u2019\u00e9nergie. Nous avons confiance en notre technologie et nous savons comment nous allons developer ces syst\u00e8mes utiles\u2009\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Nord Quantique cr\u00e9e des qubits bosoniques multimodes pour ses ordinateurs quantiques, ce qui lui permet d\u2019avancer dans le d\u00e9veloppement de sa technologie de correction d\u2019erreurs quantiques \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle industrielle. Le terme \u00ab\u2009multimode\u2009\u00bb d\u00e9signe la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019encoder des informations quantiques en utilisant plusieurs fr\u00e9quences micro-ondes pour un seul bit quantique. La redondance intrins\u00e8que de cette m\u00e9thode permet de corriger plusieurs types d\u2019erreurs, notamment les inversions de bits, les inversions de phase, les erreurs de contr\u00f4le et d\u2019autres types de perturbations qui peuvent se produire pendant le calcul dans les syst\u00e8mes quantiques. Contrairement \u00e0 certaines technologies concurrentes, cette approche ne n\u00e9cessite pas des milliers de qubits physiques pour corriger chaque qubit logique affect\u00e9 par des erreurs lors des calculs. Nord Quantique s\u2019attend \u00e0 ce qu\u2019il y ait un rapport de 1:1 entre les qubits physiques et les qubits logiques de ses dispositifs.<\/p>\n<p>Faire partie de l\u2019inititative QBI aidera Nord Quantique dans ses efforts pour d\u00e9velopper des ordinateurs quantiques \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle en v\u00e9rifiant et en validant la technologie, en communiquant les r\u00e9sultats aux principales parties prenantes et en se disputant les contrats. Les entreprises qui seront accept\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tape A recevront 1 million de dollars US pour d\u00e9tailler leur concept. Celles qui passeront \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tape B recevront jusqu\u2019\u00e0 15 millions de dollars US pour se concentrer sur un plan de recherche et d\u00e9veloppement de base.
